Field Research Report

My field research consisted of watching a pbs special Art21 and reading the forum online. It was about how artists do there work and It was very interesting. There is this artist by the name of Bruce Nauman he made a staircase and he calls it art because he says so. And the forum was also interesting because the discussion was what makes it art I did get a really good outlook and a good perspective on my topic. In doing my research for this paper I did not dawn on me tell later that art is emotional and appeles to the senses.

Annotated Bibliography, Part 2


Everything that I have read about my topic has been mostly about the movement of dada Readymades are a small portion of the dada movement yet it did change the way people thought of art or there concept of what the art piece is telling them; however, I am having a very difficult time gathering enough information to build my argument. It is the history about it which will be included in my paper, but not anything that will really build an argument or help tobuild my argument.

Ideas for the Application Project

I am thinking of writing a short story on my topic. or maybe do a newspaper article as if I was an art critic. Or write an article as if I were from an art magazine. Or do an interview with an artist from that time theoretical of course.

Progress Report for Argumentative Paper


I still need to sift threw more of my research. The only thing I am really worried about is is that I will not have a strong argument because I feel there is just not enough con or so that I can not find. So I still have to do a little more research also So that is were I am at right now.

Well I will stat out with background history on the subject then I will go in to my supportive details on my opposition then I will do the other sides opposition and supportive details.

RJA #9b: Argument

Research Question: Is Readymades Art?

Thesis: Readymades in the Dada movement should be rethought as art, because it lacks creativity and is not art.

Ethos: It was a form of protest for these artists. A lot of my support will come from the historical point of view but also there will be support from people who critiqued the the art or movement.

Pathos: It would be how the artist felt about ww1 and how they could contribute the dislike about the war. This will be some what hard point of view to put in the paper because art is subjective; however, if a person is very passionate about this subject the more interested they are and will have an opinion on i t.

Logos: What these artistes were doing was there way of getting there feelings out about the war. Alot of this will be from the historical side of the movement.
