Field Research Report
My field research consisted of watching a pbs special Art21 and reading the forum online. It was about how artists do there work and It was very interesting. There is this artist by the name of Bruce Nauman he made a staircase and he calls it art because he says so. And the forum was also interesting because the discussion was what makes it art I did get a really good outlook and a good perspective on my topic. In doing my research for this paper I did not dawn on me tell later that art is emotional and appeles to the senses.

Annotated Bibliography, Part 2
Everything that I have read about my topic has been mostly about the movement of dada Readymades are a small portion of the dada movement yet it did change the way people thought of art or there concept of what the art piece is telling them; however, I am having a very difficult time gathering enough information to build my argument. It is the history about it which will be included in my paper, but not anything that will really build an argument or help tobuild my argument.

Ideas for the Application Project
I am thinking of writing a short story on my topic. or maybe do a newspaper article as if I was an art critic. Or write an article as if I were from an art magazine. Or do an interview with an artist from that time theoretical of course.

Progress Report for Argumentative Paper
I still need to sift threw more of my research. The only thing I am really worried about is is that I will not have a strong argument because I feel there is just not enough con or so that I can not find. So I still have to do a little more research also So that is were I am at right now.

RJA #9b: Argument
Research Question: Is Readymades Art?
Thesis: Readymades in the Dada movement should be rethought as art, because it lacks creativity and is not art.
Ethos: It was a form of protest for these artists. A lot of my support will come from the historical point of view but also there will be support from people who critiqued the the art or movement.
Pathos: It would be how the artist felt about ww1 and how they could contribute the dislike about the war. This will be some what hard point of view to put in the paper because art is subjective; however, if a person is very passionate about this subject the more interested they are and will have an opinion on i t.
Logos: What these artistes were doing was there way of getting there feelings out about the war. Alot of this will be from the historical side of the movement.

RJA #8 Quotations, Paraphrasing, and Summarizing
1. Quotations
1a. Quotations with a ellipsis
Dada was, officially, not a movement, its artists not artists and its art not art. That sounds easy enough, doesn't it? Of course, there is a bit more to the story of Dadaism than this simplistic explanation. Taken from http://arthistory.about.com/cs/arthistory10one/a/dada.htm
The Dada movement was started by a bunch of artist the wanted to protest world war one. So Dada was born, but "Dada was officially, not a movement its artists not artists and art... which is also known as anti-art or readymades.
1b. Quotations with brackets
The Dada movement was started by a bunch of artists that wanted to protest world war one. So Dada was born, but "Dada was officially, not a movement [ or anti-art movement] its artists not artists art not art.
2. Paraphrasing
2a. We, who are non-artists, will create non-art - since art (and everything else in the world) has no meaning, anyway. About the only thing these non-artists all had in common were their ideals. They even had a hard time agreeing on a name for their project. "Dada" - which some say means "hobby horse" in French and others feel is just baby talk - was the catch-phrase that made the least amount of sense, so "Dada" it was.
http://arthistory.about.com/cs/arthistory10one/a/dada.htm
Basically these non-artists did not agree on anything they even had a hard time
figuring out what to name the movement, but oddly enough ideals is what band them together, however they agreed to a name which is Dada and Dada means hobbyhorse in french.
3. Summarizing
The public, of course, was revulsed - which the Dadaists found wildly encouraging. Enthusiasm being contagious, the (non)movement spread from Zurich to other parts of Europe and New York City. And just as mainstream artists were giving it serious consideration, in the early 1920s, Dada (true to form) dissolved itself.
http://arthistory.about.com/cs/arthistory10one/a/dada.htm
When the Dada movement and artist appeared in public the general population was pretty disgusted with the art that came out, but apparently someone liked the art because it spread all the way to America New York in fact. Once the art movement caught on to the cool train the original Dada artist abounded the style of art.

RJA #7 Evaluation of Sources
I am kind of disappointed with all my reaserch so far everything I saved on my Dilicious page is relevent to my subject; however, all the pages I saved are about the Dada movement and how it started but I have no information on the argumintive side of this paper, so I will have to go back through an research more to find papers and articales, books and so forth to find the argumentative side of this paper.

Research Questions
Should Readymade art be considered art.
My goal is to argue that readymade art is not a valid form of art; also I would like to inform people the fine line of what is called art or not art. Some art terms I will have defined in my paper. There are not a whole lot of different aspects to this subject that i could come up with a lot of questions. People I would be writing for is art enthusiasts or for people that do not know much about the Dada movement and how readymade art ended up on the map.

Research topic focus
- Lack of creativity.
- Infringement on patents and copyright laws.
- Taking credit for someone else work.
- How it came to be claimed art.
- Does not fall under normal criteria for art.
Topic Exploration
I surfed the web quite a bit, and I found a couple of websites that I put in my bookmark page.
I am surprised there is more information. I thought it was going to be a difficult subject. I looked up information on Google and Google Scholar; however, I think I may end up getting a lot of my information in books.

Change of research topic.
The topic that I chose before; I could not find any information, so I have changed it. I have chosen a topic that is related to Art, It is; Is readymades considered art. I chose this topic because, I am already familiar with the subject, also it is a topic that has, and will continue to be an issue.
This particular subject in art has yet been explored extensively, or even argued that much. What I know of this subject is readymade art is taking an everyday object and slapping there name on it and calling it art. This type of art comes from the Dada movement in the 1920's.
The part I would like to gain insight on a little more is how a lack of creativity and hands on work can possible be considered art. Another aspect of the subject I would like to know if someone did not create a piece of work with there bare hands isn't it considered a copyright law or equivalent to plagiarism.

Research Topic
I believe my topic is going to be: To much leisure time in prisons, and jails. The reason why I picked this subject is; because as a taxpayer it iratest me to know that prisoners have the same luxury's as they would outside of being incarcerated. I feel that there are solutions that would help the economy, and help states out as far as public service, and even a solution to in prison and jail violence. That is what I know of the subject this far.
I really do not know to much except that they get to watch television, they have timed outside time, and they have weights they can exercise on. I feel that the prisons and jails are over crowded and from what I know; when there is a huge population stuffed in to a maximum capacity building or with any living courtiers people begin to get violent and very territorial, and I think promoting chain gangs, and participating in public services; these prisoners would be to tired to fight. See I look at them as they are two years old in the since that they need to run around and get all there extra energy out.
As for what I do not know, is a lot I am sure. I would like to now what the legality issues are that may prevent this kind of set up that I am arguing. I definitely would like to know if how the prison and jail systems are portrayed on television; if that is how it really is. I am curious to some level if this would be promotable to the jails and prisons in Colorado or any othe states.
